JEFF JACKSON RETIRES
Ex Captain, and former RACMP RSM, Jeff Jackson has handed in his pace stick, retiring after nearly 46 years of service. Jeff served in South Vietnam with the 4th Battalion, RAR, in 1971, transferring to RACMP (or Australian Army Provost Corps as it was then) in 1974. He held a number of regimental and non-Corps postings, including a stint with UNTSO in 1994-1995 in Israel & Syria. He transferred from The Australian Regular Army to the Army Reserve in 1998. Now the Manager of Pensions, Advocacy & Welfare Support Services for the Returned & Services League of Australia (Victorian Branch), Jeff enjoys the continuing contact with both serving and ex-service members and being able to assist veterans and their families. On 14 November 2017, Jeff was presented with his retirement gift from the RACMP Colonel Commandant, Glenn Wahlert, and Major George Acheson-Thom, of the Directorate of Military Police, at the Australian War Memorial. We all wish Jeff a happy and healthy retirement, although he appears to be just as busy as he was when serving.
